Soft Landing Zone

The Soft Landing Zone programme (funded by UKTI) supports innovative UK-based companies who are interested in developing an International Research and Development Collaboration (either through a new project, partnership, joint venture or development of a dedicated research centre).

Through a combination of ‘hands on’ support and physical office space the Soft Landing Zone team is able to offer UK companies:

• Access to unique overseas Research Centres and Academic Institutions. Dedicated sector specific partner sourcing.

• Faciliated access to Overseas Market Introduction Services through our UKTI Partners.

• Country specific support with regard to grant access, student placements, introductions and free consultations with legal and accountancy partners.

• Access to a network of 20 offices located overseas (across the emerging markets of the globe) - each office is able to provide your business with touch down desk space, access to ICT connectivity and equipment, meeting rooms, business addresses and basic administration services.

• Access to team of business advisors (both in the UK and overseas) able to support your company in developing a new R&D project, furnishing advice and guidance with regard to Intellectual Property, License Agreements and basic country specific market research.

• Access to specialist R&D laboratories across the globe (including the unique Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and the Porto Digital Hub in Brazil).

• Sector specific support within key industry sectors such as bio-technology, wireless, photonics, digital media, ICT, environmental technologies, advanced materials and transport technologies.
